NFL News: Josh Allen passes and rushes for 6 TDs as Bills outslug Bucs

Josh Allen accounted for six touchdowns, including two fourth-quarter rushing scores, as the Buffalo Bills posted a 44-32 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a high-octane contest on Sunday afternoon at Orchard Park, N.Y.

Allen passed for three touchdowns and ran for three as Buffalo (7-3) won for the third time in four games. Tyrell Shavers had four catches for 90 yards and one touchdown while James Cook (114 scrimmage yards) and Ty Johnson also had scoring receptions for the Bills.

Allen completed 19 of 30 passes for 317 yards and was intercepted twice. He added 40 yards on six rushes and Allen’s final rushing score was his 75th in the regular season, tying Cam Newton’s career record for most on the ground by a quarterback.

Sean Tucker rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and had two receptions for 34 yards and one score for the Buccaneers (6-4), who lost for the third time in four games.

Baker Mayfield completed 16 of 28 passes for 173 yards, one touchdown and one interception and also rushed for a score for Tampa Bay.

The Buccaneers were ahead 32-31 after Tucker caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Mayfield with 13:38 remaining in the game. Mayfield’s ensuing two-point conversion throw was incomplete.

Buffalo answered with Allen scoring on a 5-yard run to give the Bills a 37-32 lead with 9:06 left. Allen overthrew an open target on the two-point conversion.

Allen later scored on a 9-yard run to increase the lead to 12 with 2:35 remaining and the Bills closed out the win.

Earlier, Tucker carried 6 yards for a score to give Tampa Bay a 26-21 lead with 7:26 left in the third quarter. The ensuing two-point conversion run failed.

Matt Prater kicked a 39-yard field goal to bring the Bills within 26-24. After Cole Bishop picked off Mayfield three plays later, Buffalo took a 31-26 lead on Allen’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Cook with 3:48 left in the third quarter.

Allen accounted for three first-half touchdowns as Buffalo led 21-20 at the break.

Allen’s 2-yard scoring run gave the Bills a 7-3 lead with 4:09 left in the opening quarter.

Mayfield answered with a 4-yard keeper on fourth-and-inches to give the Buccaneers a 10-7 advantage with 12 minutes left in the first half.

Buffalo went back ahead when Allen tossed a 43-yard scoring pass to Shavers with 8:52 remaining.

Tucker scored on a 43-yard touchdown run as the Bucs took a 17-14 lead with 5:37 to go.

The see-saw affair continued as Allen tossed a pass behind the line to Johnson, who sped 52 yards to give the Bills a 21-17 edge with 36 seconds left.

Tampa Bay’s Chase McLaughln kicked a 24-yard field as time expired in the half.
