Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a groin injury.
Brown had three receptions for 20 yards in Week 1 at Baltimore, sharing time with rookie Tank Dell. Dell, who caught three passes for 34 yards, will step into an expanded role.
Brown played 52 snaps in the 25-9 loss to the Ravens; Dell played 37.
Texans defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway also was placed on IR.
To fill their roster spots, the Texans elevated rookie punter Ty Zentner from the practice squad and signed defensive end Michael Dogbe.
Ridgeway was questionable for Week 1 with a calf injury and left the game after posting two tackles due to the same injury.
–The Minnesota Vikings ruled out starting center Garrett Bradbury for Thursday night’s game at Philadelphia due to a back injury.
Bradbury, 28, has not practiced all week. Austin Schlottmann is listed as the backup on the depth chart.
Bradbury has started 58 games since the Vikings drafted him in the first round (18th overall) in 2019.
LT Christian Darrisaw (ankle) and LB Marcus Davenport (ankle) were limited in practice again Wednesday and are listed as questionable to face the Eagles.
–The Carolina Panthers placed starting left guard Brady Christensen on IR with a biceps injury sustained late in the season-opening loss to Atlanta.
Christensen, 26, has started 24 of his 34 games since the Panthers drafted him in the third round in 2021.
Head coach Frank Reich said Wednesday that cornerback Jaycee Horn’s hamstring injury could need surgery, requiring an IR stint.
Horn, the No. 8 overall pick in 2021, has already been ruled out for Monday night’s game against New Orleans.
Horn, 23, was injured in the first half against the Falcons and finished with one tackle.
The Panthers also placed CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver (hamstring) on practice squad IR, released practice squad RB Spencer Brown and signed WR Michael Strachan and RB Tarik Cohen to the practice squad.
–The Denver Broncos placed safety Caden Sterns on injured reserve and promoted wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey from the practice squad to the active roster. The team also signed wide receiver Michael Bandy to the practice squad.
Broncos coach Sean Payton said Sterns is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn patellar tendon. He sustained the injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s 17-16 setback to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Sterns, 23, played two snaps on defense and three more on special teams before the injury.
A fifth-round pick by Denver in 2021, Sterns has recorded 49 tackles, four interceptions and two sacks in 21 career games (five starts).
Humphrey, 25, had two catches for 11 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders. He has 20 receptions for 326 yards and four scores in 25 career games (nine starts) with the New Orleans Saints (2019-21), New England Patriots (2022) and Broncos.
“He’s smart, he’s tough and he’s got strong hands,” Payton said. “He can block, so he is a physical receiver. There is a size element to what he does. We can move him around, but you know exactly what you are getting.”
Bandy, 25, played in 11 games (two starts) for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2021-22 and totaled 10 receptions for 89 yards.
