NFL News: Early Super Bowl LX money flowing on Seahawks

Sportsbooks don’t yet have a favorite outcome for Super Bowl LX, but the early actions shows that the public is heavily behind the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks opened as consensus 4.5-point favorite shortly after surviving the Los Angeles Rams in a 31-27 victory in the NFC Championship Game. That set up a Super Bowl matchup against the New England Patriots, who beat the Denver Broncos, 10-7, earlier Sunday.

The line has since moved as high as 5.5 points at some sportsbooks. By mid-day Monday, it was sitting at 5.0 points at BetMGM, where Seattle had been backed by 59% of the spread-line bets and 65% of the money.

“It is too early to say what the sportsbook will need in the big game itself. But on the futures market, bettors would love to see the Seahawks win,” BetMGM senior trading manager Tristan Davis said.

Seattle’s moneyline was holding steady at -235 while drawing 64% of the money. However, the public has backed New England’s +195 ML with 66% of the total bets. That was in part driven by a $30,000 wager on the Patriots at +2200, which would return $660,000 should the Patriots win the Super Bowl.

It has been an unforeseen run by New England, which opened as a +12500 longshot to win this year’s Super Bowl. Those odds trimmed to +1000 ahead of the wild-card round, +600 ahead of the divisional playoffs and +250 ahead of the AFC Championship Game.

Seattle opened at +6000, with the Seahawks’ Super Bowl odds trimmed to +400 ahead of the postseason. They were +300 ahead of their divisional playoff win over the San Francisco 49rs and +150 before Sunday’s game against the Rams.

According to teamrankings.com, Seattle and New England are the best teams against the spread (record when factoring in the point spread) this season, including playoffs.

Seattle is 14-5-0 against the spread (ATS), while New England is 13-6-1.

The total points line for Super Bowl LX has held steady at 46.0 at BetMGM. It’s a relatively low line considering the Patriots were the NFL’s second-highest scoring team at 28.8 points per game, with the Seahawks right behind at 28.4. Seattle had the stingiest defense in the league in 2025, allowing 17.2 points per game. The Patriots were fourth at 18.8.

The early action has seen the public back the Over with 71% of the money.

The game will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX (49), which the Patriots won 11 years ago after Malcolm Butler’s famous interception in the end zone with 20 seconds remaining to secure a 28-24 victory in Glendale, Ariz.

The Super Bowl will be played at the 49ers’ home stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 8.

While a slew of specialty bets will be posted over the next two weeks, an early look at one of the most popular prop bets, Super Bowl Most Valuable Player, is topped with the expected names.
