NFL News: Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott expected to play Week 10

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott plans to be ready to play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

After missing one game and resting during Dallas’ bye last week due to a knee injury, Elliott will test his health in practice on Wednesday or Thursday.

Elliott sprained his knee Week 7 and didn’t play the week after, ceding the starting spot to Tony Pollard, who had 14 carries for 131 yards and three touchdowns to spearhead a 49-29 win over the Chicago Bears.

Dallas (6-2) was off last week, but Elliott spent time at the team facility for treatment.

“We’ll see a lot as we go through this week’s practice,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday. “It’s anticipated he’ll be ready to go.”

Pollard has been over 10 carries for three consecutive games, an indication the timeshare with Elliott is here to stay. But even after being inactive Week 8, Elliott leads the Cowboys with 109 rushing attempts to Pollard’s 81.

The Packers (3-6) have allowed 138.6 rushing yards per game this season and enter with a five-game losing streak.
