Cleveland Browns second-year wide receiver Michael Woods II tore his Achilles while training with quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The injury will require surgery and likely wipe out his sophomore campaign in the NFL, the team confirmed Tuesday.
The injury reportedly occurred in Houston, where Watson has a home and close to Woods’ home in nearby Magnolia, Texas. Watson has been hosting teammates for workouts, per the reports.
Woods, 23, a sixth-round selection by the team in 2022, caught five passes for 45 yards in 10 games (zero starts). He also played 36 percent of the Browns’ special teams snaps in 2022.
He’s listed as a third-team WR on the Browns’ depth chart.
