The Cleveland Browns designated safety Grant Delpit to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.
Delpit was the team’s leading tackler (80) before missing the final four games with a groin injury. The Browns have not said whether he will be available for Saturday’s wild-card game at Houston.
Delpit, 25, started the first 13 games this season and added 1.5 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. The 2020 second-round draft pick was selected as an alternate for this year’s Pro Bowl.
The Browns also announced that Jeff Driskel is QB2 for Saturday, beating out P.J. Walker as the primary backup to starter Joe Flacco. Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt made the announcement Wednesday.
Driskel, 30, started last week’s meaningless 31-14 loss to Cincinnati. He went 13-for-26 for 166 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions. Walker went 1-1 as a starter in place of Deshaun Watson earlier this season and appeared in six games overall.
Cleveland also signed cornerback Kalon Barnes, 25, to the practice squad on Wednesday.
