Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is active for Sunday’s game against the host New Orleans Saints.

Higgins tested his ailing ankle by running routes with the receiving group and reeled in passes from Joe Burrow prior to the game.

Higgins’ availability was in question after he was limited to just 10 snaps due to an ankle injury during the Bengals’ 19-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. He then missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday before being limited on Friday.

Higgins, 23, has 20 catches for 315 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

Left tackle Jonah Williams is also active for Sunday’s game. He missed the week’s first two practices before being limited during Friday’s session due to a knee injury.

The Bengals listed cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, running back Trayveon Williams, offensive tackle D’Ante Smith and offensive guard Jackson Carman as inactive for Sunday’s game.

The Saints, however, will be without wide receivers Michael Thomas, Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry as well as cornerback Marshon Lattimore, offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton, defensive end Payton Turner and tight end Nick Vannett. All seven players were listed as inactive.

Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton will receive the start against his former team on Sunday. Jameis Winston, who is nursing back and ankle injuries, will serve as the backup in an emergency role.

Dalton, 34, has gone 1-1 as the Saints starter. The TCU product was a second-round draft pick by the Bengals in 2011.

Over nine seasons at Cincinnati, Dalton was 78-70-2 as a starter, completing 62.3 percent of his passes with 228 touchdowns and 136 interceptions. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016.

Dalton is now with his third team in three seasons, playing for the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, one year after he saw time with the Chicago Bears. In 17 starts over the past three seasons, Dalton has gone 8-9.
