Michigan took advantage of two second-half interceptions to defeat Washington 24-7 in a Big Ten game on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Wolverines (5-2, 3-1) scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to rebound from last week’s loss at USC that knocked them out of the Top 25.

They started by capitalizing on Cole Sullivan’s interception of Demond Williams Jr. at the Huskies’ 14-yard line. Jordan Marshall, who carried 25 times for 133 yards, scored on a trap on the next play to make it 14-7 with 1:20 left in the third quarter.

Williams, who had thrown only one interception coming in, came out firing on the next drive with a pair of 17-yard completions.

Jimmy Rolder, however, stepped in front of the next Williams pass for an interception at Michigan’s 38.

Nine plays later, Bryce Underwood found Zack Marshall wide open in the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown and a two-touchdown lead with 10:05 left in the game.

Underwood finished 21 of 27 passes for a career-high 230 yards and two touchdowns. Williams was 20 of 32 for 209 yards and three interceptions.

The Wolverines jumped out to a 7-0 lead with 33 seconds left in the first quarter when Underwood hit Andrew Marsh for a 22-yard touchdown on a middle screen. The play capped a seven-play, 80-yard drive.

Underwood completed passes of 15 yards to Donaven McCulley and 19 yards to Zack Marshall to set up the score.

The Huskies (5-2, 2-2) passed midfield in all four of their first-half drives, but they didn’t get on the board until 40 seconds remained in the half.

Jonah Coleman capped a 13-play, 70-yard drive with a 1-yard plunge to tie the game 7-7.

The Huskies’ drive was in trouble when Derrick Moore sacked Williams to force Washington into second-and-19 from the Michigan 42.

On the next play, however, Williams found Raiden Vines-Bright wide open down the middle for 31 yards to the Michigan 11.

Three plays later, Coleman tied the game.

Williams finished the first half 14 of 19 for 155 yards. Underwood matched him with 15 of 20 for 151 yards and touchdown.
