Texas A&M and first-year coach Mike Elko are having a huge weekend, rallying to beat LSU on Saturday, then moving up to No. 10 in the country on Sunday and getting verbal commitments from a pair of four-star recruits in Douglasville, Ga.

Douglas County High juniors Jordan Carter and Aaron Gregory were visiting College Station, Texas, on Saturday when the Aggies beat the then-No. 8 Tigers 38-23 to improve to 7-1 and take sole possession of first place in the Southeastern Conference at 5-0. Texas A&M rose from No. 14 in the Associated Press Top 25 released on Sunday afternoon.

Gregory pledged his commitment to the Aggies on Sunday, and teammate Carter made his announcement about an hour later.

Carter, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound edge rusher, is ranked the No. 30 player in the Class of 2026, No. 3 at his position and No. 6 in Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite. He has nearly 30 offers including Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Tennessee and Southern California.

Gregory, a 6-3, 170-pound wide receiver, is No. 38 in his class nationally, No. 6 at his position and No. 7 in his state, per the composite rankings. Gregory, who also plays defensive back, has almost 50 offers, including Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Auburn.

Texas A&M is third in the 247Sports team rankings for the Class of 2026. The Aggies have commitments from Carter, Gregory and fellow four-stars in quarterback Helaman Casuga of Draper, Utah, and defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin of Mount Olive, N.C. A pair of three-star defensive backs from Texas, Markel Ford of Mesquite and Ryan Gilbert from Forney, also have pledged for the Aggies.
