Sawyer Robertson passed for 393 yards and four touchdowns to lead Baylor to a 45-27 victory Saturday at Stillwater, Okla., over Oklahoma State, which played its first game after former head coach Mike Gundy was fired Tuesday.

Robertson completed 24 of 35 pass attempts, including three for touchdowns when he started 9 of 14. He did not throw an interception.

The third scoring strike, a 10-yard pass to Michael Trigg, put Baylor (3-2, 1-1 Big 12) ahead 28-17 with 3:40 left in the second quarter.

Caden Knighton led Baylor with 81 yards on five carries. Bryson Washington had 77 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

Oklahoma State’s Zane Flores completed 23 of 41 pass attempts for 232 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Oklahoma State (1-3, 0-1 Big 12) has lost 12 straight games against FBS opponents.

The teams traded scores into the fourth quarter.

Robertson completed a 73-yard touchdown pass to Kobe Prentice 50 seconds into the second half to give Baylor a 35-20 lead.

Both offenses then stalled with Baylor fumbling the ball, punting, and turning the ball over on downs, while Oklahoma State punted three times.

The Cowboys broke the dry spell with a 1-yard touchdown run by Trent Howland with 5:22 left in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 35-27.

A 39-yard pass from Flores to Shamar Rigby set up Howland’s score.

Connor Hawkins made a 36-yard field goal to cap Baylor’s next possession.

The alternating scoring came to a stop after Oklahoma State was forced to punt, and Baylor subsequently drove 89 yards for a touchdown.

Robertson’s 2-yard run, his first score on the ground this season, put Baylor ahead 45-27 with 6:31 left.

Robertson opened the scoring with a 34-yard strike to Kole Wilson, and the Cowboys followed it up with a trick play as wide receiver Sam Jackson V found Josh Ford from 26-yards out to tie it with 6:54 left.

It was the first time in 309 games, dating from 2001, that Oklahoma State did not have Gundy on the sidelines.

Former Oklahoma State offensive lineman Doug Meacham, hired last year to be the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator, will serve as the interim coach the rest of the season.
