Former members of the dissolved Pac-12 now playing in the Big 12 will keep their previous bowl game affiliations for the 2024 and 2025 college football seasons, organizers announced Friday.

As an example, the Valero Alamo Bowl previously pitted Big 12 teams against Pac-12 squads. Now, all 12 teams formerly in the Pac-12 will be eligible for consideration to play in the Alamo Bowl.

Washington State and Oregon State, as remaining members of the Pac-12 who will play a conference schedule affiliated with the Mountain West, will also be eligible for the Alamo Bowl.

“We are thrilled to ensure Oregon State and Washington State student-athletes will continue to have opportunities to participate in the same level of premier postseason events as in years past,” said Merton Hanks, Pac-12 executive associate commissioner of football operations.

Additionally, former Pac-12 schools who have joined the Big 12, Big Ten and ACC will be able to play in the LA Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, Independence Bowl and Sun Bowl, and the ESPN bowl pool.

“From the College Football Playoff to our esteemed bowl partners, we are thankful for the cooperation among multiple parties, including our colleagues across each participating conference, to secure these events,” Hanks said.

The Pac-12 conference had signed six-year bowl agreements running through 2025. Each of the league’s bowl partners will “continue its agreed upon selection process” among current and former teams, according to the conference organizers.

The Rose Bowl is part of the College Football Playoff and will host quarterfinal games on both years. It is no longer obligated to have Big Ten or Pac-12 teams playing in Pasadena, Calif.
