Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles said Wednesday that he has committed to Northwestern.

That keeps Chiles in the Big Ten after he played the past two seasons for the Spartans. He also played for Oregon State in 2023 before transferring to Michigan State.

Chiles passed for 1,392 yards and 10 touchdowns against three interceptions in 2025 before sustaining a foot injury in late October. He also rushed for 227 yards and six scores.

The previous season, Chiles passed for 2,415 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions and rushed for 225 yards and three TDs.

Chiles began his career at Oregon State and followed Jonathan Smith to East Lansing when the former Beavers coach took the Michigan State job. Smith was recently fired after two seasons with the Spartans.

Chip Kelly will be Northwestern’s offensive coordinator this season.

Prior to signing with Oregon State, Chiles was a highly-ranked prospect in the 2023 class.
