Fired Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore remained in the Washtenaw County Jail on Friday morning, with no update on any charges he could face.

As of 9 a.m. ET, jail records did not reflect any information about charges, bond or a potential release date for Moore.

He has been behind bars since early Wednesday evening, hours after Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel announced the second-year coach was fired “for cause” after an investigation turned up “credible evidence” he had been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.

“This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior,” Manuel said in a statement.

Moore was taken into custody “for the purposes of investigating an alleged assault,” according to a Pittsfield Township Police Department news release. TMZ Sports reported Thursday that Moore was at the residence of a staff member in the football program at the time.

Pittsfield police said Thursday that Moore, 39, was expected to be arraigned on Friday.

Michigan finished the season with a 9-3 record and a No. 18 ranking and a date to meet No. 13 Texas (9-3) in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31. Interim coach Biff Poggi will coach the Wolverines in the game.
