NBA2K News: T-Wolves, Warriors stay perfect in NBA 2K League’s Tipoff

The T-Wolves and Warriors Gaming Squad each won twice on Friday to complete perfect qualifying campaigns for the NBA 2K League’s The Tipoff event.

By beating Kings Guard Gaming 70-63 and Lakers Gaming 84-67, the T-Wolves moved to 6-0 in Western Conference action. The Warriors also finished 6-0 after whipping Pacers Gaming 87-61 and Mavs Gaming 74-59.

Expansion team NBL Oz Gaming wound up atop the Eastern Conference with a 5-1 mark after splitting two Friday matches. NBL fell 74-66 to the Gen.G Tigers but defeated Hawks Talon GC 63-58.

In other Friday action, Pistons GT nipped Jazz Gaming 65-61, the Mavs topped Bucks Gaming 61-58, DUX Infinitos downed Blazer5 Gaming 66-57, the Pacers pounded the Jazz 78-63, Grizz Gaming got past Blazer5 73-68, and Celtics Crossover Gaming demolished Wizards District Gaming 66-43.

In matches played Friday after they were postponed from Thursday due to a server outage, Cavs Legion GC edged Knicks Gaming 66-62, the Wizards held off Hornets Venom GT 64-61, Hawks Talon GC slipped past 76ers GC 66-63, Raptors Uprising GC squeaked past the Cavs 67-66, Heat Check Gaming defeated NetsGC 59-55, and the Hornets stopped the Celtics 85-74.

The NBA 2K League 5v5 season will include three tournaments — The Tipoff, The Turn and The Ticket — that will set the field for the playoffs, scheduled for Aug. 2-5 in Washington.

Remote group play in The Tipoff will set the field for remote bracket play beginning next week. The tournament will then conclude with in-person tournament play at District E in Washington, June 14-17.
