NBA2K News: T-Wolves cap perfect prelim run in NBA 2K League’s Tipoff

T-Wolves Gaming completed a perfect run through group play at the NBA 2K League’s The Tipoff tournament, beating previously unbeaten Warriors Gaming Squad 76-64 on Friday.

Michael “BearDaBeast” Key paced the T-Wolves (6-0) with 27 points and eight assists, while teammate Roger “Polow” Adams produced 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Charlie “CB13” Bostwick finished with 20 points and 10 assists for the Warriors (5-1).

The top teams from group play head to Washington for in-person bracket play, consisting of best-of-three matches beginning Wednesday.

The Tipoff is the first of three tournaments that lead up to the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs that run from June 26-29. The Tipoff runs through May 25, and it will be followed by The Turn (May 29-June 15) and The Ticket (June 18 and 22).

In other matches on Friday as group play concluded, Grizz Gaming nipped Pacers Gaming 80-77, Raptors Uprising GC downed Magic Gaming 74-61, Jazz Gaming topped Blazer5 Gaming 79-65, 76ers GC took down Hawks Talon GC 73-64, Cavs Legion GC squeezed past NBL Oz Gaming 72-69, Pistons GT demolished DUX Infinitos 91-68, Heat Check Gaming hammered Celtics Crossover Gaming 102-69, Kings Guard Gaming defeated Lakers Gaming 72-69, Bucks Gaming bested Mavs Gaming 71-68, the Gen.G Tigers toppled Knicks Gaming 71-54, NetsGC outlasted Wizards District Gaming 79-69.

Four opening-round playoff matchups were confirmed Friday night. In Eastern Conference matches on Wednesday, Knicks Gaming will meet Raptors Uprising GC, and Wizards District Gaming will oppose Heat Check Gaming. In Western Conference matches on Thursday, Bucks Gaming will clash with T-Wolves Gaming, and Warriors Gaming Squad will square off with Pistons GT.
