Pistons GT defeated T-Wolves Gaming in five games on Saturday night to claim the championship of the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Slam Open in Washington.

Pistons GT claimed the $60,000 first-place prize, while T-Wolves Gaming scored the runner-up share of $30,000.

Pistons GT opened with wins of 23-16 and 21-10 before the T-Wolves responded by taking the next two — 22-13 and 21-18. But Pistons GT took the fifth and final match for the clincher, 21-15.

Pistons GT point guard Anthony “Ant” Costanzo was named the Slam Open tournament MVP after averaging 9.6 points and 2.6 assists across the first-to-21 points championship series.

The playoffs in the $150,000 tournament began in a best-of-five, double-elimination format, with the opening rounds played remotely. This week, action was held in front of a live crowd at District E in Washington.

All 25 professional teams advanced to the playoffs, with group-play records determining seeding. The top seven teams from the community competition filled out the final seven seeds.
