NBA2K News: NBL, Gen.G start hot in NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open

NBL Oz Gaming and the Gen.G Tigers each won twice on Wednesday as group play for the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 Switch Open got underway.

NBL opened with a 3-2 victory over NetsGC, then beat Cavs Legion GC 3-1. The Tigers topped the Cavs 3-2 before defeating Hawks Talon GC 3-1.

Oz charged in front of the Nets with 23-18 and 24-20 wins before the Nets rallied with 21-16 and 21-11 victories. In the decisive fifth game, NBL prevailed 21-14.

Caesar “Ceez” Martinez paced NBL with averages of 9.8 points and 3.3 assists per game.

The Cavs started with a 23-19 win, then fell 23-18 to the Tigers. Gen.G gained the edge with a 21-17 triumph, but the Cavs extended the series with a 22-19 victory. The Tigers won 23-20 in the finale.

Jaiden “gallow” Frank topped Gen.G with rates of 10.5 points and 4.5 assists per game.

In the day’s other action, Bucks Gaming swept Jazz Gaming 3-0, Pistons GT topped DUX Infinitos 3-1, Grizz Gaming nipped Kings Guard Gaming 3-2, Heat Check Gaming downed Hornets Venom GT 3-0, the Hawks beat the Nets 3-1, Warriors Gaming Squad got past the Bucks 3-1, Magic Gaming trounced the Pistons 3-0, the Jazz pounded the Grizz 3-0, DUX dumped the Hornets 3-1, Lakers Gaming thrashed Mavs Gaming 3-0 and Pacers Gaming walloped Blazer5 Gaming 5-0.

Group play in the Switch Open continues with 18 matches on Thursday and runs through Monday. Bracket play is scheduled for April 3-6.

The Switch Open is the second of three 3v3 tournaments in the NBA 2K League season. Lakers Gaming won the Slam Open, and the Steal Open will follow next month. The 3v3 playoffs are set for April 24-27 in Washington.
