Bucks Gaming and Gen.G Tigers swept their way into the conference semifinals of the NBA 2K League’s 5v5 The Tipoff event on Wednesday, though they did so in very different ways.

While the Tigers eliminated Cavs Legion GC with a pair of single-digit wins in the Eastern Conference quarters — 68-57 and 72-68 in overtime — the Bucks destroyed Blazer5 Gaming in a Western Conference quarterfinals, 73-57 and 95-45.

The Tigers will next play NBL Oz Gaming in an Eastern Conference semifinal. The Bucks will face T-Wolves Gaming in a Western Conference semifinal.

The NBA 2K League 5v5 season will include three tournaments — The Tipoff, The Turn and The Ticket — that will set the field for the playoffs, scheduled for Aug. 2-5 in Washington.

Remote group play in The Tipoff will set the field for remote bracket play beginning next week. The tournament will then conclude with in-person tournament play at District E in Washington, June 14-17.

On Wednesday, Mason “JohhnyRed” Bracken dominated from the outset for the Bucks, scoring 42 points in the opening game and 23 in the second game, the 50-point blowout. Center Jomar “Jomar” Varela-Escapa paced Blazer5 with 30 points and 23 rebounds in the two games.

In the Eastern Conference, Darjean “ReturnOfDJ” Henderson led Gen.G with 30 points in the first game while Jaiden “gallow” Frank followed up his 19-point, nine-rebound performance in the first game with 16 points and 11 assists in the overtime win.

The remaining Round of 16 schedule —
Thursday
Eastern Conference: 76ers GC vs. Celtics Crossover Gaming
Western Conference: DUX Infinitos vs. Warriors Gaming Squad
Friday
Eastern Conference: Magic Gaming vs. Heat Check Gaming
Western Conference: Pacers Gaming vs. Grizz Gaming
