The Los Angeles Lakers were crowned the NBA Champions in Orlando a couple of months ago and now it’s already time for the preseason 2020-21 games.
The Lakers looked like they had never left the game though the teams were different. Off season additions including Montrezl Harrel, Dennis Schroder and Wesley Mathews debuted while LeBron James, Anthony Davis and a few other top players sat out.
The LA Lakers had the shortest offseason of their career as they had won their final game just 60 days ago while some other teams were at the court after a long period of nine months.
There’s nothing like the NBA. Where else does everything you love happen in one place? Only here.

The scores from the first NBA preseason games 2020-21 are as follows:
- Orlando Magic 116, Atlanta Hawks 112
- New York Knicks 90, Detroit Pistons 84
- Houston Rockets 125, Chicago Bulls 104
- Los Angeles Lakers 87, Los Angeles Clippers 81
- Portland Trail Blazers 127, Sacramento Kings 102
The NBA put on a fantastic ahow despite the pandemic. They created a bubble so that the games could continue. When the Los Angeles Lakers finally won the title, the backdrop and the Disney Courts were as familiar as the courts in the past, before the pandemic.
There are going to be empty NBA arenas this season as well. Although it will take some getting used to, the game will go on and on. Looking at the mask clad Piston dancers moves amid empty seats brings to mind how different this season will also be.
