Natisha Hiedeman recorded 17 points, six assists and three steals to lead the Connecticut Sun to a 99-68 victory over the Dallas Wings on Thursday night at Uncasville, Conn.

Hiedeman also made four 3-pointers and committed one turnover in 31 minutes. The strong effort came in her second straight start after point guard Jasmine Thomas was lost for the season with a torn ACL in her right knee.

DeWanna Bonner scored a team-high 18 points as Connecticut (5-2) led most of the way. Brionna Jones tallied 15 points, DiJonai Carrington added 13 and Jonquel Jones had 12 for the Sun.

Satou Sabally scored 18 points for Dallas (5-3), which had a three-game winning streak halted. Arike Ogunbowale had 16 points and Allisha Gray added 11.

The triumph gave the Sun a split of the two-game set. Dallas recovered from a 12-point halftime deficit on Tuesday to post an 85-77 victory.

The Wings again trailed by 12 at the break on Thursday, but there was no such comeback as they had just 33 second-half points on Thursday after pouring in 58 two nights earlier.

Connecticut shot 48.6 percent from the field, including 6 of 21 from 3-point range.

Dallas made 36.9 percent of its shots and was 10 of 30 from behind the arc. The Wings scored 18 or fewer points in each quarter.

Dallas was within 10 after Sabally’s basket with 2:43 left in the third quarter. But Connecticut responded with the next 10 points to make it 70-50. Hiedeman and Bonner each hit 3-pointers during the burst.

The Sun led 70-52 entering the final stanza and kept the throttle down. Hiedeman drained another trey to make it a 23-point margin in the first minute and Bonner and Jonquel Jones converted back-to-back baskets to make it 81-54 with 6:06 left to play.

The Sun closed the first half with a 15-3 burst to hold a 47-35 lead at the break. Jonquel Jones had six points and Bonner added five during the stretch.

Dallas trailed 24-17 after the opening quarter and took its only lead at 27-26 on Sabally’s 3-pointer with 6:48 left in the half.
