NAS News: Spire Motorsports parting ways with driver Justin Haley

Spire Motorsports will dismiss Justin Haley, driver of its No. 7 Chevrolet, at the end of the NASCAR Cup Series season.

The announcement on Tuesday came with Haley ranking 31st in the series standings, with two top-10 finishes — third at Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 23 and 10th at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 23.

Haley, 26, captured Spire’s first victory in its inaugural year in the Cup Series in his second career start at a 2019 rain-shortened race at Daytona. After the 2021 season, he spent two years with Kaulig Racing and most of last season with Rick Ware’s team before a driver swap with Spire in September 2024.

“This is a decision that was not taken lightly,” Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson said in a news release on Tuesday. “Justin has been a member of the Spire family since he was a teenager. We’ve watched Justin grow from a young driver trying to make his mark in the sport to a proven winner.

“He helped strengthen our organization into what it is today. He made us winners and returned home after forging his own path in the Cup Series. Justin is the embodiment of a true racer who has quietly become a respected competitor within the NASCAR garage and will be an incredible asset to his next team.”

Spire’s plans for the No. 7 car in 2026 will be announced at a later date. The racing team’s other drivers are Michael McDowell (21st in the points standings) and Carson Hocevar (23rd).

Haley, a native of Indiana, has a combined 338 starts in NASCAR’s Cup (one win), Xfinity (four) and CRAFTSMAN Truck (three) series.
