Naithan George had 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists Wednesday, helping lead Georgia Tech to a 60-52 Atlantic Coast Conference win over visiting Stanford in Atlanta.

Baye Ndongo added 15 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks, while Duncan Powell chipped in 10 points and seven boards as the Yellow Jackets (12-13, 6-8 ACC) won their third game in four tries.

Jaylen Blakes led Stanford (16-9, 8-6) with 12 points and six assists as the Cardinal dropped their third game in four tries. Stanford trailed by 15 at halftime and shot just 30.3 percent from the field, including a 5-for-27 (18.5 percent) mark on 3-pointers.

After holding a 35-20 halftime edge, Georgia Tech extended its commanding lead to 47-28 on George’s triple with 12:10 left.

Stanford’s 13-2 run pulled the Cardinal within eight, the closest they had been since the eight minute mark of the first half. From there, George and Ibrahim Souare’s baskets pushed the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 53-41 with 4:53 remaining.

After Benny Gealer’s 3-pointer and Chisom Okpara’s layup cut Stanford’s deficit to seven, Ndongo and George combined to shoot 5-for-5 from the free throw line and extend the Yellow Jackets’ advantage to 10 at the 1:35 mark.

Ndongo began the game’s scoring with back-to-back jumpers, before Powell’s 3-pointer extended Georgia Tech’s early lead to 7-2.

After Oziyah Sellers’ triple pulled Stanford within a point, Ndongo’s three-point play and Powell’s second 3-pointer began a 10-0 Georgia Tech run to extend its lead to 21-10 with 8:29 left.

Maxime Raynaud’s mid-range jumper trimmed Stanford’s deficit to 26-15, but Jaeden Mustaf then accounted for five points during Georgia Tech’s 9-0 run, helping push the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 20 with 1:59 left.

Stanford finished the first half on a 5-0 spurt. Ndongo led all scorers with 11 first-half points to go along with nine rebounds.
