Movie Review: “Mufasa: The Lion King” (2024)
“Mufasa: The Lion King,” directed by Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins, revisits the beloved Pride Lands with an epic origin story about Mufasa, one of Disney’s most iconic characters. Narrated by Rafiki (John Kani) to young Kiara, Simba and Nala’s daughter, the film delves into Mufasa’s early life, weaving a tale of resilience, brotherhood, and destiny.
Told through flashbacks, we first meet Mufasa (Aaron Pierre) as an orphaned cub, alone in the vast savannah. His journey takes a turn when he crosses paths with Taka (Kelvin Harrison Jr.), the royal heir to a powerful pride.
