Movie Review: Until Dawn (2025)
Horror fans and gamers alike have been eagerly anticipating Until Dawn, an upcoming film adaptation of the popular 2015 video game. Directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation), this psychological horror thriller promises to expand the eerie mythology of the Until Dawn universe while offering a fresh and terrifying standalone story.
The film follows Clover (Ella Rubin), who, along with her friends, ventures into a remote valley in search of answers about her sister Melanie’s mysterious disappearance. What starts as a desperate search soon turns into a relentless nightmare.
One by one, they are horrifically murdered—only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same fateful evening. As they become trapped in a time loop of terror, each reset brings new horrors, with a different killer threat emerging every time. Their only way out? Survive until dawn.
With a screenplay by Blair Butler (The Invitation) and Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun), the film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, and Belmont Cameli. Adding an extra layer of authenticity, Peter Stormare reprises his role from the original game, much to the delight of longtime fans.
