The Vancouver Whitecaps placed goalkeeper Thomas Hasal on season-ending injured reserve Friday.
Hasal, 24, is scheduled to see a specialist for a lingering knee injury in the coming weeks, according to the team.
“Thomas has been managing patellar tendinitis for most of the year with the support of our entire sports performance team,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said. “… We’ve collectively made this decision so he can focus on a full recovery.”
The Saskatchewan native has recorded six clean sheets in 33 career MLS starts with the Whitecaps since 2019.
