The Portland Timbers added a much-needed piece to their offensive attack, landing Brazilian forward Antony from Portugal’s FC Arouca on a full transfer.
The 21-year-old winger is under contract through 2026 with an option for 2027. Antony will occupy an international roster slot and a U22 initiative slot pending the receipt of his international transfer certificate.
Antony scored eight goals with three assists in 66 appearances from 2021-23 across all competitions for FC Arouca. This season in Portugal’s top flight, he had six goals and one assist in 33 appearances.
The Timbers are just 6-9-8 this season with their 26 points putting them 12th in the Western Conference and just below the playoff line. The club has scored 26 goals, tied for ninth in the conference.
