Defender Kyle Duncan rejoins the New York Red Bulls on Sunday after being acquired on a season-long loan.
The 25-year-old Brooklyn native arrives from Belgium’s K.V. Oostende in a deal that includes an option to buy.
“We are very excited to have Kyle back at the club following his loan spell at the end of last season,” NYRB sporting director Denis Hamlett said in a news release. “He knows the club very well and has had much success here, and we are looking forward to see him continue that this season.”
Duncan had one assist in nine games (six starts) with the Red Bulls in 2022. He has five goals and 11 assists in 81 matches (71 starts) since making his MLS debut with New York in 2018.
“Kyle (Duncan) has shown his qualities over the last couple years with us and has a lot of experience in MLS,” head coach Gerhard Struber said. “We are happy to have him back with us.”
The Red Bulls open the 2023 regular season on Feb. 25 at Orlando City SC.
