Martin Ojeda had one goal and one assist, Ivan Angulo added one goal and Orlando City SC defeated the host Philadelphia Union 2-1 on a rainy Saturday night in Chester, Pa.

The Lions (2-1-2, 8 points) held on for the win through seven minutes of stoppage time in the second half.

Orlando City SC goalkeeper Pedro Gallese was away on National Team duty with Peru so Mason Stajduhar earned the start and made five saves.

Andres Perea scored the lone goal for the Union (2-3-0, 6 points), who lost at home for the first time since Sept. 3, 2021. Perea had a good scoring chance in the first minute of second-half stoppage time but failed to get off a clean shot.

The Union also conceded multiple goals at home for the first time since the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals.

Goalkeeper Joe Bendik (two saves) started again for injured All-Star Andre Blake, who was out with an adductor strain.

Angulo nearly scored for the second time in the 61st minute when he dribbled in and fired a shot just wide of the net.

Philadelphia’s Jakob Glesnes hit a shot from about 25 yards out in the 64th minute and Stajduhar seemed to be a bit surprised the ball had to be saved.

Stajduhar made stellar saves in the 74th minute off a volley from Kai Wagner and then in the 75th minute against Alejandro Bedoya.

Orlando City SC quickly went ahead 1-0 in the second minute when Ojeda, a designated player, broke free behind the Union defense and scored his second goal in two games.

The Lions took a 2-0 advantage in the ninth minute when Angulo connected for his first career goal.

The Union closed within 2-1 in the 17th minute as Perea headed the ball off the post and then booted the rebound into the net.

Philadelphia received a free kick just outside the top of the box in the 45th minute, but it chose to play the ball short and wasn’t able to capitalize.
