The New York Red Bulls acquired two-time MLS champion goalkeeper John McCarthy from the Los Angeles Galaxy on Friday for a third-round draft pick and $150,000 in general allocation money.

McCarthy, who won titles with Los Angeles FC in 2022 and the Galaxy in 2024, lost his starting spot in May to Novak Micovic.

McCarthy, 33, has 21 career clean sheets in 111 regular-season matches across 10 seasons with four different clubs.

“He has shown up in big moments throughout his whole career and we are excited to add him to our organization,” Red Bulls head of sport Jochen Schneider said.

–CF Montreal acquired attacking midfielder Ivan Jaime on loan from Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto.

The 24-year-old Spaniard’s deal runs through June 2026 and includes a purchase option that would keep him with Montreal through 2027 with options for 2028-29. Jaime will occupy a designated player spot on the roster.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ivan Jaime to our squad,” Montreal managing director Luca Saputo said. “His profile and qualities are fully in line with the sporting vision we want to build within our club. “His technical talent and ability to make a difference in the offensive third will bring a new dimension to our team.”

Jaime has tallied five goals and two assists in 44 matches since joining Porto for a reported $10 million transfer fee from Famalicao in 2023. He spent last year on loan at Valencia CF of the Spanish LaLiga.

–Toronto FC acquired midfielder Jose Cifuentes on loan from Scottish Premiership club Rangers FC.

The 26-year-old Ecuador native has a U.S. green card and will not occupy an international roster slot. His deal runs through June 2026 with a purchase option.

Cifuentes previously competed in MLS with Los Angeles FC from 2020-23, posting 14 goals and 20 assists in 102 regular season appearances. He helped LAFC win the 2022 Supporters’ Shield.

–The San Jose Earthquakes traded forward Amahl Pellegrino to San Diego FC in exchange for $300,000 in general allocation money.

The Quakes also retained a portion of the 2025 salary charge for Pellegrino, 35, who had nine goals and six assists in 51 appearances over two seasons with San Jose.

San Diego FC also waived defender Hamady Diop, who played eight games for the club.

–FC Cincinnati acquired winger Dominik Marczuk from Real Salt Lake prior to Thursday’s close of the MLS secondary transfer window.

In exchange for the 21-year-old Poland native plus an international roster slot, RSL will receive FCC’s first-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft. Marczuk will continue to occupy a U22 initiative slot.

Marczuk recorded two goals and four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for RSL since August 2024.

–Inter Miami CF acquired forward Mateo Silvetti from Newell’s Old Boys of Argentina’s top flight.

The 19-year-old Argentina native will occupy a U22 initiative roster slot and is under contract through 2029 with an option for 2030.

Silvetti contributed six goals and two assists in 37 matches with Newell’s Old Boys. He was coached by Inter Miami manager Javier Mascherano in the Argentina U-20 ranks.

–The Chicago Fire acquired defender Viktor Radojevic from FK TSC of the Serbian SuperLiga.

Radojevic, 21, will occupy U22 initiative and international roster slots. His contract runs through the 2028 season with a 2029 club option.

The Fire acquired an international roster slot from Toronto FC in exchange for $100,000 in 2026 general allocation money.

–The New England Revolution acquired a 2025 international roster slot from Austin FC in exchange for $50,000 in 2025 GAM and $75,000 in 2026 GAM.
