The Chicago Fire transferred defender Carlos Teran to Brazil’s Clube Athletico Paranaense on Monday.

The 24-year-old Colombian center back had five goals and one assist in 87 matches since joining the Fire in 2020.

“This is a great opportunity for Carlos to continue building his career,” Fire director of football and head coach Gregg Berhalter said in a team statement. “We thank him for his contributions to the Club over the past five seasons and wish him the best moving forward.”

Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.
