New York City FC announced Friday that homegrown forward Andres Jasson has departed to join Denmark’s Aalborg BK.
Jasson, 22, tallied three goals and three assists in 59 MLS matches (21 starts) for NYCFC from 2020-24.
He appeared in only three matches (two starts) this season, most recently as a late substitute on May 11.
Jasson, who graduated from Yale last month, is scheduled to join the Danish top-flight squad on June 21.
“We believe this opportunity will allow Andres to continue to grow his career with consistent minutes in a competitive league and we are looking forward to following his career in Europe,” NYCFC sporting director David Lee said.
A Connecticut native, Jasson had been with the organization since joining the NYCFC academy in the 2016-17 season.
“I want to thank everyone at New York City FC for their support and for making my time here special,” Jasson said. “Having come through the academy, the friends and memories I have collected along the way is something that I will take with me. I’m excited for this next step in my career and will bring all the experiences I have gained thus far with me to Aalborg BK.”
