Rookie Will Reilly scored a game-tying goal in the fourth minute of extra time on Wednesday to help Atlanta United post a 2-2 draw against the visiting Chicago Fire.

With Atlanta trailing by a goal, Alexsey Miranchuk sent in a corner kick, which was deflected then rebounded by Reilly, who fired in the equalizer for the first score of his young MLS career.

Playing in its first home game since May 28, Atlanta (4-10-8, 20 points) picked up points in its third straight game by way of a draw.

Chicago (8-9-5, 29 points) took the lead in the 79th minute on Maren Haile-Selassie’s goal, before Fire goalkeeper Chris Brady allowed Reilly’s game-saving score.

Chicago has gone three games without a win and hasn’t won on the road since June 7.

It took just over a minute for Chicago to score first, as Philip Zinckernagel’s corner kick weaved through defenders and curled past Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan to give the Fire a 1-0 lead.

Six minutes into the second half, Chicago threatened to double its lead to 2-0 on Hugo Cuypers’ left-footed shot in the box, but Guzan, who finished with seven saves, made a kick save to preserve the one-goal deficit.

In the 56th minute, Miguel Almiron found Miranchuk, who fired a shot from outside the box to knot the score at one.

Chicago totaled 14 shots to Atlanta’s 10, while putting nine on goal to Atlanta’s four.

Chicago will remain on the road this weekend when it travels to face CF Montreal. Atlanta will play its second of three consecutive games at home on Saturday, as the Five Stripes host Charlotte FC.
