D.C. United have acquired forward Cristian Dajome from the Vancouver Whitecaps in exchange for $350,000 in 2024 general allocation money.
The Whitecaps could receive an additional $200,000 in 2025 GAM if certain performance-based incentives are met.
The deal, announced on Tuesday, was agreed to prior to Monday’s closing of the primary transfer window.
“Recruiting a dynamic player with transitional speed who can play anywhere along our frontline was one of our main objectives before the primary window closed,” D.C. United president of soccer operations Dave Kasper said. “Cristian’s ability to stretch the field, in combination with our core attacking group will give us multiple options in terms of how we want to play. We are delighted to bring him to the District.”
Dajome has not recorded any goals or assists in seven matches (four starts) this season with Vancouver.
The 29-year-old Colombian has 15 goals and 13 assists in 91 games (71 starts) since joining the Whitecaps in 2020. He scored 10 goals in 2021.
