The Columbus Crew announced the signing of homegrown midfielder Taha Habroune on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old Crew Academy product and former Crew 2 player signed through 2027 with a 2028 club option.

Habroune is the first player in franchise history to follow that career path — Academy to Crew 2 — to a first-team MLS contract.

“Taha is a talented young player who has continued to improve since joining our Club five years ago,” general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said. “Signing a First Team contract is a testament to his efforts and our Club’s commitment to creating opportunities to advance along our player pathway.”

Habroune had four goals and three assists in 20 matches (14 starts) for Crew 2 last season and was named to the 2023 MLS NEXT All-Star Game.
