The Columbus Crew signed free agent defender Jimmy Medranda for the 2023 season on Friday.
The deal includes an option for 2024 for the 10-year MLS veteran.
Medranda, 28, has recorded nine goals and 11 assists in 145 matches (87 starts) with Sporting Kansas City (2013-19), Nashville SC (2020) and the Seattle Sounders (2020-22).
The Colombia native has won an MLS Cup, two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups and a 2022 Concacaf Champions League title.
“Jimmy is a proven winner, and we are proud to have a plyer with his MLS experience choose to sign with the Crew,” general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said. “Bringing a decade of MLS experience with him to Columbus, Jimmy’s addition to our roster will help provide depth and create competition on our backline, and we look forward to having him as part of our team.”
Medranda played in 21 games (eight starts) for the Sounders last season and contributed three assists.
