CF Montreal goalkeeper James Pantemis agreed to a one-year contract on Friday that also holds club options for 2024 and 2025.
Financial terms were not disclosed by the MLS club for the Montreal native, who was eligible for free agency.
“We initially decided not to exercise James’ contract option as only one option year remained,” said Olivier Renard, CF Montreal vice president and chief sporting officer. “We wanted to make sure to keep him with us for several years and we’re very happy that he has agreed to continue to be part of our project.”
Pantemis, 25, has recorded seven shutouts in 32 career matches with FC Montreal, including a career-high four blankings in 12 appearances last season.
