CF Montreal acquired midfielder Wiki Carmona from the New York Red Bulls on Monday in exchange for defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty.

Carmona, 22, of Venezuela, spent the past five seasons with the Red Bulls, contributing six goals and six assists in 118 matches across all competitions.

“We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Wikelman Carmona,” said Montreal managing director Luca Saputo. “His profile will strengthen our midfield options and give our coach greater tactical flexibility.

Marshall-Rutty, 21, of Canada, spent last season on loan with Charlotte FC and has recorded one goal and eight assists in 112 MLS matches with Toronto FC (2020-24), Montreal (2024-25) and Charlotte (2025).

“We are very pleased to add Jahkeele to our roster and welcome him to the club,” said New York head of sport Julian de Guzman. “He is an exciting young player that brings a strong mentality and a willingness to work, and we believe this is a great spot for him to continue developing and taking the next step in his career.”

Both teams open the 2026 MLS season on Feb. 21, with the Red Bulls visiting Orlando City SC and Montreal visiting San Diego FC.
