CF Montreal acquired midfielder Bryce Duke and forward Ariel Lassiter from Inter Miami CF on Wednesday in exchange for defender Kamal Miller and $1.3 million in general allocation money in 2023.
“We’re very happy with the arrival of these two players,” said Olivier Renard, CF Montreal vice president and chief sporting officer.
“We had been discussing with Miami for a while regarding Bryce. He is an intelligent player on the pitch, with good technique and passing quality. He is a modern player who will bring creativity.
“Ariel is a versatile, left-footed player, with good speed and goal-scoring ability. He can also play as a striker and will help us offensively.”
Duke, 22, has recorded one assist in seven appearances (four starts) this season. He has one goal and 11 assists in 61 career MLS matches (25 starts) with Los Angeles FC (2020-21) and Inter Miami (2022-23).
Lassiter, 28, has yet to dent the scoresheet in seven appearances this season. He has eight goals and six assists in 97 career MLS matches (34 starts) with the Los Angeles Galaxy (2015-18), Houston Dynamo (2020-21) and Inter Miami (2022-23).
Miller, 25, also has yet to record a goal or an assist in six matches this season. He has three goals and six assists in 88 career matches (81 starts) with Orlando City SC (2019-20) and CF Montreal (2021-23).
