Austin FC parted ways with forward Emiliano Rigoni, waiving the 31-year-old and exercising his contract buyout clause on Tuesday.

Rigoni played in 11 matches for Austin FC this season, starting seven. He had one goal on 11 shots.

The Argentine forward came to Austin on a $4 million signing from Sao Paulo FC in 2022. After seven scoreless appearances that year, he started 25 of 33 matches in 2023 and recorded five goals and six assists.

Austin (6-4-4, 22 points) freed up a designated player tag, a senior roster spot and an international roster slot with the move.
