Colorado Rockies right-hander Tyler Kinley will undergo surgery for an elbow strain and a flexor tear in his forearm, with a Tommy John procedure not out of the question.
Kinley, 31, is expected to miss the remainder of the season, ending a campaign when he had a 0.75 ERA in 25 relief appearances (24 innings). If Tommy John surgery is needed, he will miss at least part of 2023 and possibly the entire season.
Over five major league seasons, Kinley is 7-6 with a 4.44 ERA in 184 appearances, all in relief. He has pitched for the Minnesota Twins (2018), Miami Marlins (2018-19) and Rockies (2020-22).
