Aristides Aquino’s infield single in the top of the 10th inning scored the go-ahead run for the Cincinnati Reds, who held on to beat the host Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 on Sunday.

Aquino’s single — a soft ground ball to third — scored Austin Romine, who was on second as the automatic runner. Aquino advanced to third on a throwing error by third baseman Mike Brosseau and scored on a sacrifice fly to left by Donovan Solano to complete the Reds’ scoring.

Ross Detwiler pitched a scoreless 10th for the Reds to earn the save, striking out two, as Cincinnati took two of three games in the weekend series.

Solano finished with two RBIs to lead the Reds.

The Reds were up 2-1 entering the bottom of the ninth, but Keston Hiura greeted reliever Hunter Strickland (3-3) with a solo home run to lead off the inning and tie the score. It was the 10th homer of the season for Hiura.

Devin Williams (2-2) pitched the 10th for Milwaukee and yielded Cincinnati’s two runs.

Both starting pitchers were dominant.

Brewers right-hander Corbin Burnes struck out nine in six innings, giving up one run, two hits and two walks to lower his ERA 2.45.

Reds right-hander Graham Ashcraft allowed one run and four hits in 5 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out three.

Milwaukee shortstop Willy Adames opened the scoring in the third inning when he homered to center field off Ashcraft.

In the fifth, Cincinnati catcher Michael Papierski tied the score at 1 on a homer to right field.

In the eighth, after Jose Barrero struck out for the third time of the day, Rogers allowed a single to pinch-hitter Jonathan India. That later brought up Solano, who doubled off the right-field wall to score India from first, giving the Reds a 2-1 lead.

Barrero wound up 0-for-4 with four strikeouts.

The Reds haven’t lost a series since falling to the St. Louis Cardinals in two games on July 15-16. Since then, Cincinnati has won series over St. Louis, Miami twice, Baltimore and now Milwaukee.

The Brewers have lost six of their past seven games.
