Ramon Urias smacked a two-run home run early and starting pitcher Zach Eflin worked into the seventh inning as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the visiting Detroit Tigers 10-1 on Wednesday night.

Jordan Westburg homered in a seven-run eighth inning to join Adley Rutschman, Jackson Holliday, Gunnar Henderson and Urias with two hits apiece for the Orioles, who had lost three of their previous four games.

Recording the win in three consecutive starts, Eflin (6-2) limited the MLB-leading Tigers over 6 2/3 innings. He allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

The teams meet in the rubber game of their three-game series Thursday night.

Tigers starter Casey Mize (6-2) lasted 5 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits. He walked two and struck out seven.

Eflin held a no-hitter until there were two outs in the fourth inning, yielding only a walk to Zach McKinstry to that point. Riley Greene’s single was the first hit off Eflin.

Keegan Akin, Bryan Baker and Gregory Soto completed the combined five-hitter.

Urias followed Mullins’ leadoff single in the third with his third homer of the season to open the scoring.

Colt Keith doubled in Detroit’s first run with a seventh-inning double, but the Tigers didn’t convert further with runners at second and third base with one out. Wenceel Perez was thrown out at the plate on pinch hitter Dillon Dingler’s grounder to third.

Rutschman led off the seventh with a double and scored on Henderson’s single for a 3-1 lead. Baltimore tacked on another run on Mullins’ eighth-inning double. Mullins later scored on Beau Brieske’s wild pitch before Ryan O’Hearn’s two-run single and Westburg’s three-run homer.

The Orioles squandered other scoring chances, leaving eight runners on base.

Baltimore left fielder Colton Cowser, playing in just his second home game of the season, went 1-for-5. Not only did he have a two-month stint on the injured list, but his first 10 outings of the season were all road games.
