Eric Wagaman hit a two-run homer, Jesus Sanchez added a pinch-hit solo shot and the Miami Marlins ended the visiting Philadelphia Phillies’ five-game winning streak with an 8-3 victory on Tuesday.

Xavier Edwards had three hits and drove in a run for Miami, which had 13 hits and won for the fourth time in its last five games. Javier Sanoja and Agustin Ramirez each had two hits and an RBI as the Marlins evened the four-game set at one game apiece.

Freddy Tarnok (1-0), one of five Miami relievers, pitched a scoreless sixth inning for the win.

The Marlins spoiled the return of Phillies starter Jesus Luzardo (6-3), who spent 3 1/2 seasons with Miami before being traded to Philadelphia in December. Luzardo gave up four runs on six hits and a season-high four walks with four strikeouts over five-plus innings.

Miami took a 2-0 lead in the second. After Heriberto Hernandez drew a leadoff walk, Wagaman followed with a 406-foot shot to center field for his fifth homer of the season.

Marlins starter Cal Quantrill pitched three perfect innings before Trea Turner began the fourth with his ninth home run this season, a 413-foot homer to left field.

Philadelphia moved ahead with two runs in the fifth. With runners on second and third and no outs, Ronny Henriquez replaced Quantrill and allowed Johan Rojas’ RBI single. After Turner flied out, Kyle Schwarber singled in a run.

Quantrill allowed three runs on four hits with no walks and two strikeouts over four-plus innings.

The Marlins regained the lead with a three-run sixth. Luzardo was replaced by Tanner Banks after walking the first two batters. With one out and runners on second and third, a run scored on Kyle Stowers’ groundout.

Sanoja followed with an RBI triple and came around to score on Edwards’ single.

Miami added a run with one out in the seventh when Sanchez hit his seventh homer of the season, a blast over the center field wall.

The Marlins tacked on a pair of runs in the eighth on Ramirez’s run-scoring single and Otto Lopez’s sacrifice fly.

Philadelphia right fielder Nick Castellanos was benched after making an “inappropriate” comment to manager Rob Thomson during Monday’s game. The move ended Castellanos’ streak of 236 straight starts.
