Will Warren pitched five innings and combined with four relievers on a three-hitter as the New York Yankees recorded a 3-0 victory over the visiting Athletics on Friday night.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. homered in the second off starter Mitch Spence (2-3). Cody Bellinger and DJ LeMahieu hit RBI singles in the third and fourth, respectively, as the Yankees reached the halfway point with a 47-34 record.

Warren (5-4) had a rocky opening inning for the second straight start when he loaded the bases by walking three of the first five hitters. Warren got three called third strikes in the inning as he capped a 36-pitch inning by fanning Gio Urshela.

On Sunday, Warren allowed two runs in the first inning to the Baltimore Orioles and then retired 17 of the final 21 hitters as the Yankees rallied in the late innings.

Warren allowed a single to Brett Rooker in the third and a double to Willie MacIver to start the fifth. After walking Max Schuemann, Warren retired the A’s top three hitters: Lawrence Butler, Jacob Wilson and Rooker.

Warren struck out seven, including Wilson in the shortstop’s first two at-bats. The rookie right-hander tied a career high by issuing four walks and threw 100 pitches — two shy of his career high.

Tim Hill struck out JJ Bleday to end a scoreless sixth. Fernando Cruz pitched a 1-2-3 seventh and Luke Weaver did the same in the eighth.

Devin Williams pitched a perfect ninth and notched his 11th save as the Yankees wrapped their ninth shutout this season.

Spence allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits in five innings. The right-hander struck out five and walked four.

The A’s lost for the fifth time in six games and were blanked for the sixth time.

The Yankees opened the scoring when Chisholm blasted the first pitch of the second into the second deck for his fifth homer since returning from an oblique injury on June 3.

New York took a 2-0 lead when Bellinger followed Aaron Judge’s intentional walk with an RBI single to center that scored Anthony Volpe.

The lead grew to 3-0 when LeMahieu hit a single off Spence’s glove to score Paul Goldschmidt, who reached via catcher’s interference.
