Tyler O’Neill hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 5-3 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.

O’Neill’s homer, his 30th of the season, came against Keegan Akin (3-1). O’Neill hit three home runs in the three-game series, and has five home runs in his past five games.

The Orioles (83-64) took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th when Emmanuel Rivera’s one-out single scored Austin Slater from third.

Boston’s Greg Weissert (4-2) pitched the 10th to earn the win.

Masataka Yoshida had two hits for Boston, which won twice in the three-game series. The Red Sox (74-72) prevailed 12-3 on Monday and the Orioles earned a 5-3 victory Tuesday.

Rivera hit his third home run and Anthony Santander added his 41st homer for Baltimore, which has failed to score more than three runs in six of its past seven games. Colton Cowser also had two hits for the Orioles.

Boston starting pitcher Nick Pivetta struck out nine in six innings. Pivetta surrendered a run on four hits and one walk.

Baltimore starter Dean Kremer went seven innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits, struck out seven and walked two.

Baltimore went 4-2 at Fenway Park this season.

The Orioles grabbed a 1-0 lead when Rivera homered against Pivetta in the third. It was the 25th homer Pivetta has allowed this year.

Boston tied the score, 1-1, in the bottom half of the third. Jarren Duran singled, took second when Rafael Devers walked and scored on Rivera’s throwing error.

Ceddanne Rafaela’s two-out single drove in Yoshida to put Boston in front 2-1 in the fourth, but Santander’s home run against Justin Slaten with two outs in the eighth tied the score at 2-2.

Each team had eight hits and struck out 10 times.
