One day after earning a victory in his lone major league appearance this season, Minnesota Twins right-hander Bailey Ober was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul.
Ober (1-0, 1.59 ERA) started and went 5 2/3 innings against the Washington Nationals on Sunday, allowing one run on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in a 3-1 victory.
The Twins will make a corresponding move on Tuesday night before their home game against the New York Yankees.
Ober, 27, was 2-1 with a 2.55 ERA in four starts with St. Paul this season before getting recalled for Sunday’s game in Minneapolis.
In three major league seasons, all with Minnesota, Ober is 6-6 with a 3.74 ERA in 32 games (all starts). He has 151 strikeouts in 154 innings.
