The Minnesota Twins activated shortstop Carlos Correa from the 10-day injured list on Monday.

The two-time All-Star has missed the last 16 games with an oblique injury.

Correa, 29, returns as the Twins open a three-game road series against the Chicago White Sox. Minnesota is on a seven-game winning streak after a four-game road sweep over the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend.

Correa was batting .306 with one home run and four RBIs in 11 games before landing on the IL.

In 10 seasons with the Houston Astros (2015-21) and Twins, the former American League Rookie of the Year and No. 1 overall draft pick in 2012 is a career .273 hitter with an .820 OPS, 174 home runs and 622 RBIs.

The Twins optioned infielder Austin Martin to Triple-A St. Paul to create the roster spot for Correa.

Martin, 25, debuted on March 30 and batted .226 with one home run and six RBIs in 22 games for the Twins this season.
