The Minnesota Twins activated outfielder Byron Buxton from the 10-day injured list on Saturday.

In a corresponding move, the Twins optioned utility player Austin Martin to Triple-A Saint Paul.

Buxton, 30, missed the past 14 games because of knee inflammation. He appeared in two games with Triple-A St. Paul on a rehab assignment, going hitless in six at-bats with an RBI.

In 28 games to open the season, Buxton hit .250 (23-for-92) with eight doubles, one home run and 11 RBIs.

Buxton, 30, is in his 10th season with the Twins and has appeared in 698 games. The former All-Star and Gold Glove winner has a career .239 average with 138 doubles, 116 homers and 308 RBIs.

Martin, a 25-year-old rookie, has appeared in 30 games with the Twins. He has one homer and six RBIs with 19 runs and four stolen bases on the year.
