Eric Haase and Victor Reyes hit solo home runs and the Detroit Tigers closed out their home schedule with a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.

Haase scored two runs and knocked in two for Detroit (65-93), which has won eight of its last nine games. Miguel Cabrera, playing in his 1,000th game at Detroit’s Comerica Park, added two hits and an RBI. Akil Baddoo scored two runs.

Alex Lange (7-4) pitched an inning of scoreless relief and was credited with the win. Gregory Soto notched his 30th save. Tigers starter Joey Wentz gave up two unearned runs on two hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings.

Carlos Correa had two hits and an RBI for Minnesota (77-82). Simeon Woods Richardson (0-1) gave up three runs (two earned) and three hits in five innings of his major league debut.

Correa doubled with one out in the first but was left stranded at third, as Wentz struck out Gio Urshela.

The Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the inning. Baddoo reached on a walk, stole second and raced to third on catcher Ryan Jeffers’ throwing error. He scored when first baseman Jose Miranda booted Haase’s grounder.

Haase advanced to third on a Cabrera single and scored on a Woods Richardson wild pitch. Cabrera was later thrown out at home trying to score on Jonathan Schoop’s flyout.

Haase made it 3-0 in the third with his two-out homer over the left field wall, his 14th.

The Twins scored twice in the fifth. Jeffers reached on a two-base error by left fielder Baddoo. After recording an out, Wentz lost his control. Gilberto Celestino, Miranda and Correa walked to force in a run. Nick Gordon’s sacrifice fly brought in Celestino to pull within 3-2 and ended Wentz’s day. Will Vest retired Urshela on a flyout to keep Detroit in front.

Reyes led off the bottom of the eighth with a homer off ex-Tiger Michael Fulmer to give Detroit some breathing room. Reyes’ second homer of the season cleared the right-center field wall.

The Tigers added another run in the inning when Baddoo singled, Riley Greene walked and Cabrera smacked an RBI single.
