The Detroit Tigers signed veteran right-hander Alex Cobb to a one-year, $15 million deal plus incentives on Tuesday.

According to the Tigers, Cobb will receive $1 million bonuses for reaching 140 and 150 innings.

The 37-year-old was limited to three regular-season starts and two postseason outings for the Cleveland Guardians last season due to injuries.

Cobb underwent surgery on his left hip following the 2023 season and didn’t make his season debut until Aug. 9. He then missed time due to a broken fingernail on his right hand and a blister on his right middle finger.

Cobb sustained a back strain that also affected his surgically repaired hip during his final postseason start, against the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. He exited after 2 2/3 innings and was shut down for the season the following day.

Cobb went 2-1 with a 2.76 ERA in his three regular-season outings and 0-2 with a 7.94 ERA in the two postseason starts.

In 2023, Cobb was an All-Star for the San Francisco Giants and went 7-7 with a 3.87 ERA in 28 starts.

Overall, Cobb is 79-76 with a 3.84 ERA in 233 career starts for the Tampa Bay Rays (2011-14, 2016-17), Baltimore Orioles (2018-20), Los Angeles Angels (2021), Giants (2022-23) and Tigers.

Detroit also designated outfielder Akil Baddoo for assignment.

Baddoo, 26, batted just .137 with two homers and five RBIs in 31 games last season. In four seasons with Detroit, he hit .226 with 28 homers and 103 RBIs in 340 career games.
